The Bitch Figure
Part of the Profane series, I have been fooling around with letters
for many years now, the Fuck You series started it all,
with the inspiration coming from the graffiti artist
"Words from Mother", an English Artist, who took a
found object a baseball bat, and wrote on it
"Fuck You Pay Me", but the line comes from
the movie, Good Fellas (1990), my research tells me.
The Bitch Figure though is based on sculptural principles
I made the letter B, into breasts, makes sense, when
you face the B downwards,
like a simple child-like pair of breasts.
and the H becoming a pair of legs. Bitch became
a natural figure, with a sense of humor, which
is a requirement for me, to become an interesting
sculpture, with an edgy twist.
So now we have high art, that can cut
both ways for the viewer, a Pun or a Sting
or both, depending how you want to view
this image. For me it is all smiles, part of
the theater of the absurd. And now you
can wear your very own Bitch Figure,
proudly display your artistic temperament
for all to see. Be prepared for many conversations,
meet new people, break the ice, this will certainly
create the opportunity, because it is very different
and will speak volumes of your individuality.
